Forge AI · For food makers

Blue helps you
forge further.

You do the work. Blue runs the business. Blue is an AI finance desk for food makers who sell at markets and wholesale. It watches your Square and QuickBooks, tracks who owes you, counts your market days and keeps your renewals on time, all over plain text. No app to install. You text it like you'd text a sharp bookkeeper.

01 · THE PROBLEM IT KILLS

You make the food. The money side runs you.

A food business past the kitchen-table stage runs two businesses at once: market days with a card reader and a cash box, and wholesale to stores, restaurants and distributors on net terms. The cooking gets done. What slips is the money: who still owes you, which store always pays late, what last Sunday actually netted, whether next month's ingredient order fits the bank account. A bookkeeper who watches all that daily costs more than most makers clear. Blue does it for a fraction, and answers at 10pm when you're planning tomorrow's batch.

Blue is not a chatbot on your website. It's a finance desk with read access to your actual systems (Square and QuickBooks) that texts you when something needs a decision and handles the rest quietly. Anything that reaches a customer, or touches money, waits for your OK.
02 · A WEEK WITH BLUE

What this looks like for a food maker

Every scenario is tagged honestly. Built runs at a customer today. Pilot is live at our first food producer and still being proven. Roadmap isn't built yet, and we'll say so.

Any time

Who owes you, and how late pilot

Every open wholesale invoice from Square, sorted by how late it is, with each account's real pay history: not just "overdue", but "this distributor always pays about five weeks late".

Blue: "$8,420 is out. Greenleaf Distribution is $6,900 of it, oldest invoice 41 days late, and they usually pay 38 days after due. Want a reminder drafted?"
Monday 8:00 AM

The Monday money text roadmap

One short text: last week's sales by market and wholesale, what landed in the bank, what's due out, and the one thing that needs you. The numbers come from Square and QuickBooks, not memory.

Blue: "Last week $3,180 (markets $1,240, wholesale $1,940). $2,050 came in. Two invoices due Friday. One thing: Corner Cellar hasn't reordered in 3 weeks."
Sunday 4:30 PM

Market day, counted pilot

Card and cash together, by product, against last week and the same market a month ago. So "was it a good day?" has an answer before you've loaded the van.

Blue: "Sunday market: $612, 84 jars. Up 9% on last week. Salsa Verde sold out by 1pm for the second week running."
Tuesday 11:10 AM

The late-payer nudge pilot

A polite reminder to a slow account, drafted in your voice with the invoice numbers and amounts filled in. You read it, you send it. Blue never chases a customer on its own.

Blue: "Draft for Greenleaf: 3 invoices past due, $6,900, #1182, #1190, #1204. Friendly tone, asks for a payment date. Send?"
Wednesday 2:15 PM

Receipt in the van → bill in the books built

Snap the receipt from the restaurant supply or the label printer. Blue reads it and drafts the bill into QuickBooks, and flags anything that looks like a duplicate before it's paid twice.

You: [photo of a supply receipt]
Blue: "$418.60, 9 lines, drafted under Ingredients. Same invoice # as one from last week: duplicate or a second order?"
Any time

Your numbers on one screen pilot

A dashboard of today, cash, who owes you, sales by channel and product, and your projects and renewals, with a chat to Blue beside it. Every number on it opens to show where it came from.

You: "why is Greenleaf late again?"
Blue: "They pay in batches: their last payment cleared four invoices at once. The next batch is due around the 20th."
Any time

Permits, certifications, renewals pilot

Health permits, facility registrations, certifications and projects (a co-packer trial, a new market stall) tracked with the next step and the date, so a renewal never sneaks up on you.

Blue: "County health permit renews in 24 days. Last year's form is attached. Want me to put the fee on next week's plan?"
Month end

Margins by product roadmap

What each product really makes per jar after ingredients, packaging and the market discount, by channel, so you know whether the $4 wholesale price still works.

Blue: "Chipotle is your thinnest margin wholesale: about 22¢ a jar after the new label cost. Retail it's fine."
Any phone works. Blue runs over plain text messages. If it can text, it can talk to Blue. Nobody installs anything.

$8,420 across 5 stores. Greenleaf Distribution is $6,900 of it, oldest invoice 41 days late. Everyone else is under two weeks.
is greenleaf always like this
Yes. They've paid a median 38 days after due all year, in batches. Not a credit problem, a habit. A nudge usually moves the batch up.

Wednesday averages about 60% of Sunday. Last four Wednesdays you sold 30–36 Verde. Making 40 covers a good day.

Dropped the draft and noted it on the vendor. That's $418 that didn't go out twice. ✅

04 · YOUR BOOKS

Square and QuickBooks, connected properly

Your sales stay in Square. Intuit's own Square connector carries them into QuickBooks. Blue reads both through their official connections, checks that they agree, and catches what the connector can't see: market cash, checks from stores, and invoices that are still open.

Blue does on its ownBlue drafts, you approveBlue never does

The trust window: the first 30 days are draft-first, no exceptions, while you watch it work. After that, you choose what it has earned the right to do on its own.
05 · WHERE IT LIVES

A box in your kitchen office, not your data in someone's cloud

Blue runs on a Mac mini we set up at your place. Your customer list, your prices, your sales history stay on hardware you can point at. We maintain it remotely, with encrypted off-site backup for theft, fire or a dead drive.

Why it matters: your wholesale accounts and your prices are the business. They don't get pooled into anyone's training data or shown to anyone else, and if you cancel, the box's data is yours.

07 · STRAIGHT ANSWERS

The honest part

What we'd tell a friend before they signed

It's early, and food is our newest line. Forge runs Blue for a concrete contractor and a utility contractor today, and our first food producer is being set up now. The pieces tagged pilot above are live there and still being proven; the roadmap ones aren't built yet. You'd get founder-level attention, and you'd see some rough edges first.

The first two weeks are calibration. Blue learns your accounts, your products and how you talk. It asks more questions early on.

What it won't do: cook, sell for you, make food-safety or certification calls, give tax advice, or run payroll. It runs the money side around the work and tells you the truth about it.

08 · NEXT STEP

A short call, then a text

A 30-minute call to see how your markets and wholesale run today and whether Blue fits. If it does, Blue is set up inside two weeks, with 90 days to prove it.
